First – a confession – I’m a wannabe minimalist, but I like nice things. My tagline is “Get organized and make your home a haven.” My goal is to provide tips from my journey of simplifying, organizing, and decorating my home, along with undertaking renovation projects. Additionally, I will share insights on home management, budgeting, planning, and travel packing tips—anything to assist you in making your home on planet Earth a sanctuary.

A little about me…

For many years I was a single mother of three boys. Now I am a grandma to seven beautiful children (five girls and two boys).

I began my career with a college education in fashion design and spent fourteen years in the industry. After gaining experience at several companies, I launched my own venture, creating children’s clothing and nursery accessories. During this period, I primarily worked from home, which coincided with the upbringing of my two oldest children. Later, I operated a physical store for a year but realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. I disliked the idea of working to pay the bank and the landlord.

In 2000 I changed direction and went into healthcare. After three years, I got a full-time nursing job, worked mainly twelve hour shifts until 2021 when I “semi-retired”.

Many years ago I got into real estate investing and became a landlord with the purchase of my first triplex. That has given me the opportunity to take on many renovation and home improvement projects over the years.

My first love and passion though, has always been home decorating and organizing. I have subsequently taken various courses for my own pleasure over the years for home decorating, home staging and professional organizing.

As a child, I had also hoped to become a writer one day. I hope you will join me on this new journey of blogging as I share my favourite topics to help you create your haven and have a beautiful life.
